Indian Culture: Music, Dance, and Yoga – IDH 3930H

This class covers fundamentals of Indian music and dance from both a theoretical and practical perspective. Students will learn the basics of Indian percussion through playing Tabla. Basic Indian dance (Kathak) technique will also be covered. Traditional classical Indian music instruments such as Santur and Tambura will be demonstrated. Students will listen to live and recorded examples of classical Indian music.
